Papa & Meme Visit Japan

We are SO excited that Meme & Papa came to visit us in Japan.

Lakeview Grill:

Kappa Sushi:

We got to meet up with Jake while he was here too.
We all went out for sushi.
Papa & I tried what we thought was steak, and was SUPER yummy.
When we went to order more, we found out it was duck pastrami.
Papa & I were both shocked that it was duck, because neither one of us likes duck...until now!

Oirase Gorge:

The gorge was beautiful with all the leaves changing colors.

Papa & Danny got out and hiked a little bit of the gorge.

Lake Towada:

The ferry was running so Meme & Papa took the kids for a ride on the lake.
I drove around to the other side and meet up with them.

Such pretty colors!

Washi Paper Social:

I took mom with me to a social where we made these beautiful wall hangings out of
Japanese Washi Paper.

Japanese Arcade:

The kids enjoyed playing games at the arcade.

Aomori Big Buddah:

Dan preforming a "Cleansing" ritual:

The Big Buddah

The kids did an amazing job hanging out in the car for several days.

Takayama Inari Shrine:

I counted 202 Torii Gates.
Danny counted 203 Torii Gates.

The Sea of Japan:

We drove down a tiny path to make it out to see the Sea of Japan.

Hirosaki Castle:

This is one of my favorite places to come.
It's pretty no matter what time of year you go.

Mount Iwaki

The Chrysanthemum festival had begun.
We were able to see all the pretty colors, festival foods, and entertainment.

I'm LOVING all the fall colors!!

The Apple Lady:

Meme & Papa loved the apples I bought earlier this month, so we went back to get some more.

Airplane Museum:

Papa enjoyed looking at all the cool planes parked outside.

Japanese Cars:

Papa found the Japanese Toyota Spyder and just had to check it out!

Right-hand drive Spyder = SO COOL!!

Sydney thought Papa's mustache felt funny. LOL

Departure:

Wish they could have stayed longer!
We had SO much fun with them!

Not even Ice Cream could cheer her up!
She misses them already!
